  • Responsibilities


    • Responds to network events.
    • Troubleshoots and configures multiple F5 load balancers
    • Coordinates with on-site support personnel while troubleshooting.
    • Uses the Remedy ITSM tool to initiate, respond, and track tickets
    • Creates reports and analyzes metrics
    • Adheres to Change Management processes and procedures
    • Creates and follows SOPs
    • Daily administration of the load balancer environment
    • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues and deploys solutions
    • Plans and implements upgrades and installs new equipment
    • Evaluates modern technologies to optimize network efficiency
    • Experience with upgrading F5 software and hardware from version 11.X and later
    • In depth knowledge of F5 TMOS Architecture including currently generally available software versions
    • Configures iRules
    • Working with Profiles such as TCP, SSL, Persistence, etc.
    • In depth knowledge of ADC F5 LTM and GTM hardware platforms including engineering design and

    deployment implementation guidelines.

    • Experience building configurations using TMSH and CLI
    • Configuring BIG-IP DNS (formerly GTM)
    • Managing VCMP deployment options
    • Experience working with GSM
    • 5 years Programing/scripting experience – Python, Bash, KSH, etc
    • 5 years Linux Admin experience
    • Familiar with Cloud services and SDN
    • Familiar with Automation Provisioning platforms such as Ansible
    • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols
    • Functional understanding of network Layer 2 /3 switching and routing protocols
    • Functional understanding of diverse set of networked applications and terms requiring application traffic management solutions, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, DNS, NTP, ANYCAST services, NAT andnothers.
    • DMZ Network infrastructure knowledge including topology, security policies, firewalls and the L2/L3

    switch and router infrastructure is required

    • Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues
    • Satisfactorily complete and maintain quarterly internal training and certification standard
    • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while exhibiting a personable, polite and patient behavior
    • Be responsive and decisive on adjusting architecture as customer requirements and technology evolves
    • Results-oriented resource who can develop and manage relationships across the organization based on

    trust, teamwork and knowledge

    • Proven ability to resolve F5 related issues and mitigate F5 related risk by negotiating solutions that meet expected results
    • Experience managing across the ITIL Service Lifecycle Framework with specific knowledge of the Service Design Coordination, Transition Planning & Support and Release & Deployment Management processes
    • Credibility to influence peers and executive management
    • Excellent Verbal Skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with people who have varying degrees of technical expertise
    • Ability to produce quality documentation (understand difference between standard, best practice, design & process documents


    Required Skills:

    • Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
    • Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)
    • Must have experience configuring and maintaining F5 Load Balancers, load balancing best practices, and general WAN/LAN network management and monitoring expertise

    BA/BS or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years of related work experience

    • Proven communicator and leader. Must be able to work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal
    • Detail oriented
    • Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing

    environment while ensuring a high-level of operational effectiveness

    • Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team


    Desired Skills:

    • Relevant DHS focused experience
    • F5 Certified, CCNA/CCNP, or higher CISCO certifications preferred
